Penicillin


Look at this video about the origin of penicillin and put the sentences in chronological order.

1- When he returned to his lab, he found that one culture of bacteria was contaminated with a mould, and the bacteria that surrounded it was destroyed.
2- Fleming wanted to kill bacteria so he studied ant-bacteria agents.
3- Howard Florey produced the mould in great quantities.
4- His laboratory was always untidy.
5- One day he left his culture of a bacteria he was investigated on a bench in a corner of his lab.
6- Together, Fleming and Florey, saved the lives of millions of people.
7- Fleming found that cultivating this bacteria- killer was difficult because he needed a great amount of mould.
8- Fleming abandoned the study of penicillin.
9- Many people died from infected wounds in the war
10- That’s how the first antibiotic or bacteria-killer was discovered.
